Phoenix Gold ZP12D2 12" Streetbass Subwoofer:

The Phoenix Gold ZP12D2 is a high-performance 12-inch Streetbass subwoofer designed to add powerful low-frequency sound to a vehicle audio system.

Standard factory speakers are not normally capable of reproducing deep bass at high volume. The ZP12D2 is dedicated to producing these lower frequencies, adding greater depth, weight and impact to music.

The subwoofer features dual 2-ohm voice coils. When the two voice coils are connected in parallel, they create a final 1-ohm load for the included ZR1000.1 amplifier.

A large 3-inch oxygen-free copper voice coil helps the subwoofer manage the heat produced during demanding use. The high-gauss ferrite motor, heavy-duty double-stacked magnet and high-roll stitched surround support strong cone movement and powerful bass reproduction.

ZP12D2 Specifications:

• Subwoofer size: 12" / 322mm
• Continuous power handling: 1,500 watts RMS
• Maximum power handling: 4,500 watts
• Impedance: Dual 2 ohms
• Voice coil: 3" / 75mm OFC voice coil
• Magnet: 195oz double-stacked ferrite magnet
• Surround: Stitched high-roll surround
• Connection: Push terminals
• Mounting diameter: 281.5mm
• Mounting depth: 186.5mm
• Outer diameter: 322mm
• Subwoofer weight: 11.6kg

What Does the Subwoofer Do?

The ZP12D2 reproduces the deep bass frequencies that standard door speakers struggle to handle. Once installed, it gives kick drums, electronic basslines and low-frequency effects greater weight and physical impact.

Phoenix Gold ZR1000.1 Monoblock Amplifier:

A car stereo cannot supply enough power to operate a high-performance subwoofer directly. The ZR1000.1 receives the audio signal from the stereo, amplifies it and supplies dedicated power to the ZP12D2.

The ZR1000.1 is a single-channel amplifier designed for subwoofer applications. With the ZP12D2 voice coils wired in parallel, the amplifier operates at a final 1-ohm load and can deliver up to 1,000 watts RMS.

Please note that the ZP12D2's 1,500-watt RMS figure is its continuous power-handling capability. The working output of this package is determined by the included amplifier, which is rated at 1,000 watts RMS at 1 ohm.

The amplifier supports both low-level RCA and high-level speaker inputs, providing installation options for aftermarket and compatible factory stereo systems. Its AutoStart function can switch the amplifier on when a suitable high-level audio signal is detected.

The included wired bass-level controller can be installed within reach of the driver, allowing the subwoofer level to be adjusted without accessing the amplifier.

ZR1000.1 Power Output:

• 1 x 1,000 watts RMS at 1 ohm
• 1 x 670 watts RMS at 2 ohms
• 1 x 385 watts RMS at 4 ohms

ZR1000.1 Features:

• Single-channel monoblock design
• Stable at 1 ohm
• RCA low-level input: 0.2V–10V AC
• High-level input: 1V–30V AC
• AutoStart function through the high-level input
• Full protection circuitry
• Wired bass-level controller included
• Power input: 12V DC
• Dimensions: 243 x 160 x 48mm

What Does the Amplifier Do?

The ZR1000.1 provides the power required to drive the subwoofer. This allows the ZP12D2 to play louder and with greater control than it could when powered from a head unit.

12SUBSP Single 12" Ported Subwoofer Enclosure:

The package includes a single 12-inch ported enclosure to provide a secure mounting location for the supplied subwoofer.

A subwoofer enclosure separates the sound produced by the front and rear of the speaker cone. Without an enclosure, these sound waves can interfere with each other and reduce the amount of bass produced.

The ported construction uses an opening in the enclosure to support low-frequency output. This type of design is commonly chosen when strong and noticeable bass is required.

The enclosure is supplied as part of this package. It has not been specifically designed or tuned by Phoenix Gold for the ZP12D2.

Enclosure Features:

• Designed to accommodate a single 12-inch subwoofer
• Ported enclosure design
• Black carpet finish
• Built-in speaker terminal
• Suitable for boot-mounted installations

Dimensions

• Product dimensions: 56 x 32 x 36cm
• Carton dimensions: 58 x 34 x 38cm

What Does the Enclosure Do?

The enclosure supports the subwoofer, controls its rear sound wave and helps it produce stronger bass inside the vehicle. It also provides a practical and protected installation location in the boot.

PROZERO Amplifier Wiring Kit:

The amplifier must be connected to the vehicle's electrical system, stereo and subwoofer. The included PROZERO wiring kit provides the installation cables and accessories supplied with this package.

The wiring allows electrical power and audio signals to travel between the battery, stereo, amplifier and subwoofer. Correct installation is essential for safe and reliable amplifier performance.

What Does the Wiring Kit Do?

The wiring kit connects the separate products and allows them to operate as one system. It enables the amplifier to receive power from the vehicle, obtain an audio signal from the stereo and send the amplified signal to the subwoofer.

Please refer to the product images for the wiring and accessories supplied. Additional vehicle-specific adaptors may be required when connecting the amplifier to some factory stereo systems.

How the Complete Package Works:

1. The vehicle's stereo sends an audio signal to the ZR1000.1 amplifier.
2. The amplifier increases the strength of the signal and supplies dedicated power to the subwoofer.
3. The ZP12D2 converts the amplified signal into powerful low-frequency sound.
4. The ported enclosure supports the subwoofer and helps reinforce its bass output.
5. The PROZERO wiring kit connects the components to the vehicle and to each other.
6. The wired bass controller allows the subwoofer level to be adjusted from the front of the vehicle.

Important Installation Information:

Professional installation is strongly recommended.

The ZP12D2 uses dual 2-ohm voice coils. To present the ZR1000.1 amplifier with a 1-ohm load, both voice coils must be connected in parallel.

The amplifier power cable must be correctly fused close to the vehicle battery. A secure chassis ground connection must be used, and all wiring should be routed away from moving parts, sharp edges and excessive heat.

The amplifier gain is not a volume control. The gain, crossover and other amplifier settings must be adjusted correctly to prevent distortion and reduce the risk of equipment damage.

Please check the available installation space in your vehicle before purchasing. Vehicles with factory stereos may require an additional high-to-low level signal adaptor or a vehicle-specific interface.
